ABOUT RACHEL KOSTER
Composing has been Aussie songwriter Rachel Koster’s strong point for long over a decade with Australian acts and industry luminaries valuing and utilising her skills. Collaborations have included; Moodie (Australian Idol), Stuart Fraser (Noiseworks), Gary Pinto (CDB), Stephen Cummings, Nashville’s Karin Papperelli, Michael Barker (John Butler Trio), Chris Haigh, members of Paul Kelly’s Professor Ratbaggy, award winning blues artist Lil’Fi, and others. She has written and recorded in many genres including EDM, jazz, pop, musicals, acoustic, Christmas, children’s music as well as jingles and theme songs. However writing for other acts is her passion. A number of Aussie artists and bands have used or considered Rachel’s material for consideration, including top acts such as Vanessa Amorosi.
This artist’s solo debut, an independent pop single ‘December’, was followed by her highly acclaimed jazz album ‘Deciduous’, produced by ARIA award winning engineer, Robin Mai, and producer Chris Dickie (Wet Wet Wet/The Eurythmics). She subsequently reached #21 on the JJJ Unearthed charts with a quirky single called ‘The Mess’, and in 2017 the dreamy pop acoustic duet ‘Carnival’ with newcomer Blake Gannon hit airwaves featuring a B-side with long term co-writer, the late Stuart Fraser, who she collaborated with for 15 years. In 2021 Rachel released the digital single ‘Table’ in response to the worldwide pandemic. Always continuing to write, she has since the last EP been pitching for placements, penning song commissions, working alongside an Australian production team targeting the Asian charts, and has also released a cyber bullying awareness track.
ABOUT BOI CROMPTON & ESKAE VAN ECK
Boi Crompton’s first industry job was in 1993 driving U2 on the Zooropa tour. Since then he has used his considerable technical knowledge on tours and festivals for some of the world’s greatest artists. His tour list is a who’s who of pop rock and roll including all time greats The Rolling Stones, Madonna, Tom Jones, Sting and James Brown and today’s hot favourites Deisel, Jack Johnson, Pete Murray, Macy Gray, Snoop Dogg and The Rogue Traders. Boi has also worked on classical productions for Spiegeltent operas including Cinderella and The Pilgrims Progress as well as the Tokyo Quartet and the Queensland Orchestra.
While working alongside great musicians Boi continued to compose new material. His greatest inspiration? His muse Eskae Van Eck. In 1997 Boi and Eskae released their first EP titled “Skinpop” and in 2000 they formed a band also named Skinpop. Skinpop was quickly acclaimed and they played at festivals including Livid and Big Day Out and supported major bands such as INXS, Hanson, Roachford, Christine Anu, Yothu Yindi, Mental as Anything, IOTA, Diesel and Renee Geyer.
In 2001 Boi was forced to pull back from performance. A near fatal accident (as a pedestrian he was hit by a truck) caused a reworking in the way that he lived. The reflective time away from performance has given his audience a gift of music that is more organic, a refined production style and a maturity of sound and message that resonates with every listener.
